Erica has a BA in journalism with a design specialization in photography from Michigan State University. She has
been shooting weddings with fig since 2011. Erica first started taking photographs in her youth when her grandparents
gave her a Polaroid camera. “I don’t think I recognized my passion until high school when I worked with 35mm
film in the darkroom. I enjoy documenting people in different social settings; kind of my way of studying how people
interact amongst strangers and friends.”
Erica’s style is photojournalistic, playful, and organic. She enjoys capturing the Bridal Party, the Groom
(right before the ceremony), and when people really let loose on the dance floor. One of her favorite weddings was
Kate and Gabo at the University Club. “They were a very genuine couple; she was very lively and he was laid
back so their energy as a whole had a nice balance. I also had a blast photographing the groomsmen on a trolley
before the ceremony.”
