Brent Rolland is a south side Chicago geek who loves music: he plays drums/percussion, writes songs, collects albums, and sings every now and then. While his professional background is a combination of design, music and customer service, he came to fig to explore a career that blended all aspects beautifully. What Brent loves most about this profession—and the main reason he performs—is the humanitarian aspect it possesses. Being a deejay is a philanthropic, therapeutic thing, he believes, as he uses music to create distinct atmospheres and to please the audiences he is with. Basically, music makes people happy, and that is why he loves what he does and does what he loves.

Also, as Fig’s manager of contracts and customer relations, Brent is delighted and dedicated to ensuring your event is a success from initial contact right down to the last song of your event. With six-plus years of successful events under his belt (and counting), he is always looking forward to the next celebration.

Favorite music: Old school R&B, soul, funk, classic/smooth jazz, Latin jazz/bossa nova, ’80s/New Wave, jazz house, deep house, electronic, and Japanese pop/rock.
